The Assassination of Ice Breaker By the Coward Laura Linger

On the blog Gosselins Without Pity, Laura Linger made the following strange
comment in reference to Kate and John's decision to have a reality show
about their family:

What product are they then selling? What reason do they have to be on
television, if not for the children?
It's not about free enterprise, especially when their "right" to engage in
it is at the expense of the mental and physical well-being, both in the long
and short term, of innocent children.

This is what I don't understand: what "right" does Laura Linger have to
criticize what Kate and John are doing with their *own* children on their
own show (Jon and Kate Plus 8), when Laura's sister-in-law
(http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=122886935)
begged Laura to not put pictures of her children on her blog, to please not
disparage the war in Iraq while her husband (Laura's brother) was serving
over there, and to please not put the kids through mental and physical
anguish by constantly revealing personal details of Andrew's (Laura's
brother) mistakes in life, his private dealings, his failures, or Andrew's
marriage all over Laura's blog? Somehow Laura got the idea that the lives of
others (her husband, her husband's family, her nieces, nephews,
sister-in-law, brother and sister) were perfectly suitable fodder for her
blog (http://lauralinger.blogspot.com)
Laura has emotionally traumatized her niece and nephew (NOT EVEN HER OWN
KIDS, but someone elses) to the point where Laura's sister-in-law has cut
off all contact with her and refuses to let Auntie Laura visit, telephone,
or even send gifts to, the children. What could Laura possibly have to say
on the matter of child-rearing? She has none, and has shown the utmost
contempt for the children around her. For example: Did Laura care about the
well-being of the toddler in the stroller on her last trip to Las Vegas,
when the mother asked Laura to please put out her cigarette, and Laura
laughed at her and blew the smoke back in the face of the mother (and of
course the toddler's lungs were exposed to Laura's filthy habit as well).
Laura bragged about this incident on Usenet, so there's probably an archive
of it somewhere. Laura's concern for the "mental and physical well-being" of
the Gosseling children is much like the inside of Laura's house: a
smokescreen.
